BOSS Project monitoring team inspected Orimolade fish farm in Okuku Local Government Area of Osun State. This fishery is an enterprise of the Osun Fishery Outgrowers Production Scheme (OFOPS).
The fish farm is made up 27 ponds and some ponds contain up to 40,000 fish. The ponds are dug into the ground and are maintained by a water flow-through method.
The facilities the Bureau met on site also include a hatchery; a place for artificial fertilization and breeding of larval and juvenile fish.
During our enquiry, BOSS also observed that the fish farm has a training centre where OYES cadets are trained on Catfish farming.
Orimolade farm currently has employed 53 citizens of the State.
